Usage limits: Zero usage caps. GPT-4 with the highest available context window. No rate limiting interruptions.

Compliance: SOC 2 Type 2 documentation available. Custom data retention policies including zero-retention. SAML SSO support. For legal, healthcare, and financial services, this documentation is required for procurement approval.

Best for: Organizations above 20 seats, regulated industries requiring compliance documentation, and organizations where AI downtime creates measurable business disruption.

The Migration Path: From Plus to Team

• Identify current Plus users: Email the team asking who has ChatGPT Plus. Check expense reports. The count is usually higher than IT expects.
• Designate a workspace admin: Typically the Chief of Staff, IT Director, or most engaged executive AI user. They own the admin console and shared GPT library.
• Create the Team workspace: Go to chat.openai.com, select "Upgrade to Team" under the account menu, complete billing setup.
• Migrate team members: Existing Plus subscribers cancel their individual subscriptions when they join Team. Note: Plus conversation history does not transfer. This is a fresh start.
