- Prioritize My Inbox. Copilot scans your inbox and identifies messages that require action from you specifically, separating them from informational messages, newsletters, and FYI threads. Prioritized messages appear with a Copilot flag. Classification improves over time.
- Thread Summarization. Click any email thread and ask Copilot to summarize it. A long back-and-forth with multiple participants condenses to one paragraph: what was discussed, what was decided, what is outstanding. Essential for threads you were CC'd on and need to catch up on quickly.
- Suggested Replies. For emails requiring a response, Copilot drafts three reply options ranging from brief acknowledgment to detailed response. Select the closest option and edit, or ask Copilot to draft a more specific reply.
The Daily Workflow (5 Minutes Total)
- Open Outlook with the Copilot sidebar active.

- For any thread needing full context, use Thread Summarization before reading the full thread.
Review my inbox for the last 24 hours. Identify every email that: (1) requires a decision or approval from me specifically, (2) contains a question addressed directly to me, or (3) contains a deadline or time-sensitive request. For each, provide: - Sender and subject - One-sentence summary of what is needed - Suggested priority: today, this week, or delegate Ignore newsletters, automated notifications, and CC-only messages where no action is needed from me.
Configuration for Better Results
Start each Copilot session with role context: "I am the [role] at [company]. My highest-priority responsibilities are [list 3-4 areas]. Emails related to these areas should be surfaced first." This context persists in the session and improves classification accuracy significantly.
